Following CARE's visit to Zambia, the work has continued locally with great vigor. A total of approximately 223 children have now been trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The training is based on a model where children and young people pass on their knowledge to other students, with the support of healthcare professionals and teachers. This creates sustainable learning and strengthens both security and the ability to act in the local community.
The fact that the project lives on after CARE's journey shows how knowledge, commitment and participation can create long-term change - where children themselves become carriers of vital knowledge.
